The origins of this billycart are that it was built at the Austin Car Factory in Wales.

Owner Paul Newbold has researched this information and is playing a key role in providing video footage of Bathurst for the making of a billycart documentary.

This billycart is an excellent replica version of a 1957 Chevy.

Greg Irwin who built the billycart throughout 2005 informed me that it was constructed as sturdy as possible to hold the bulky fibreglass body.

According to Joel Nichols who currently takes the wheel of the machine,

"It is the thrill of showing it off to fellow competitors and the spectators that gives me the most pleasure and satisfaction because speed isn't everything".
